Operation Christmas Child
A Year 'Round Ministry at RLC
Richland Lutheran Church has a long history of participating in Operation Christmas Child. Each year, we collect, pack and ship boxes through Samaritan's Purse to children around the world who are in need. These simple gifts expressing the love of God mean so much to those recipients, as evidenced by the occasional letter we receive back.
Each month, we have "Items of the Month" to help spread out the collection of items, and so allow us to focus on a particular category of gift. Watch the monthly Preview and Weekly Announcements for items to be collected.
We also welcome monetary gifts which allow us to shop in bulk and to cover shipping expenses. On average, it costs $15 to pack and ship a box. Would you prayerfully consider making a one-time or occasional monetary gift contribution, or perhaps even “sponsoring” one box per month with a gift of $15 per month or $180 for the entire year? Checks should be made out to RLC with "Operation Christmas Child" noted in the memo line, and may be dropped off to the church office or placed in the offering plate.
