Good News Today is sponsored by Good News Media Ministry, a non-profit organization formed in 1978 to conduct a program of Christian witness primarily, though not exclusively, through the medium of television. This ministry is firmly committed to proclaiming the good news of salvation by grace alone through faith in Jesus Christ.
Though our background is Lutheran, through the years we have also been pleased to learn that Christians of many denominations have found our telecasts spiritually enriching, especially those who are homebound and cannot attend their own churches. Our hope each week is that we touch someone's life with the Gospel message.
We are eternally grateful that the Lord continues to bestow His grace on this ministry. We will continue, as long as we receive His blessings, to do our best in proclaiming His Word. As part of our broadcast, we encourage our viewers to attend a Christian church of their choice, and we never use our telecast to solicit funds.
Each Sunday morning Good News Today is broadcast over KAPP-TV Channel 35 (Yakima) and KVEW-TV Channel 42 (Tri-Cities). The telecast originates from the sanctuary of Richland Lutheran Church. It reaches much of eastern Washington and northeastern Oregon, and western Idaho.
The Good News Media Ministry Auxiliary is the main working body of this corporation. The Auxiliary, which includes the members of the Board of Directors, are the people who "make things happen" in this organization. The only status criteria necessary for being a member of the Auxiliary is that you must first be a member of Richland Lutheran Church. Auxiliary membership drives are held from time to time. Annual dues are $5.00, and new members are always welcome. Three major fund raising events are held each year: a yard sale, an antiques and collectibles sale, and an arts and crafts fair.
Each member is very much appreciated. The annual business meeting of the corporation is held in the month of October.
