Richland Lutheran Church, Richland, WA

seeks an Associate Pastor for Outreach

Richland Lutheran Church (RLC) seeks a full-time associate pastor with a primary emphasis on outreach ministry. We seek a pastor with at least two years prior experience in a parish setting to assist our Lead Pastor in general pastoral ministry and to lead our Outreach Ministry Teams (local evangelism, public relations, community service, and foreign missions).

The City of Richland is located in southeastern Washington and is one of the Tri-Cities (along with Pasco and Kennewick) with a combined population of about 230,000. The area is home to the huge Hanford Nuclear Reservation and has a big farm and food processing sector including numerous wineries. Founded in 1946, RLC had an average weekly attendance of 410 in 2009. We have services on Saturday evening (5:00 p.m.) and Sunday (8:30 and 11:00 a.m.) with one Sunday service having a traditional, liturgical style and the other having a blend of traditional and contemporary music styles.

RLC has a history of establishing significant community ministries, for example:
• Luther Senior Center and SEC Affordable Housing provides housing for low-income seniors and developmentally disabled adults
• The Chaplaincy provides chaplains in the community and administers the local hospice program
• Good News Media Ministry provides Sunday morning television versions of our worship services on two local ABC affiliates
Initial telephone interviews will be scheduled for the second half of May.
